Set of yew wood Windsor arm chairs

A harlequin set of six yew-wood low splat back Windsor armchairs by George Nicholson (flourished 1831-41). The pierced upper & lower splat flanked by three long spindles with three further underarm spindles either side and baluster turned end supports leading down to the elm seats one stamped NICHOLSON ROCKLEY along the edge. The baluster turned legs united by crinoline stretchers.
