Stumpwork King and Queen

Stumpwork King and Queen (Charles I and Queen Henrietta Maria). Worked in coloured silks and metal thread on a satin ground. The figures are shown standing under a tented canopy surrounded by typical flowers, birds, insects and animals. Two smaller seated figures one with a dog and one with a bird are at the top corners. At the bottom there is a rocky pool with a mermaid and sailing ships. Intialled EH above a heart between the two royal figures. Good overall condition but colours a little faded.
